Maria Arpino (NVQ, VTCT)

Maria has over 9 years experience with specialities in areas relating to managing stress, anxiety and depression.  She trained at South Devon College achieving NVQ, VTCT and Diploma standards, she continues her professional development today as an accredited member of Embody.

Maria is the owner and founder of Cloud 9.  After working as a fully qualified therapist for 4 years she decided to fulfil her dream and provide the perfect surroundings and atmosphere for delivering treatments and so Cloud 9 was born.  Opting for treatment rooms opposed to the more traditional shop front layout as many salons offer, Maria used her unique sense of style to create clean, calm and comfortable rooms in which clients can feel relaxed and zen-like! 

Cloud 9 is now in it’s 6th year and Maria is busier than ever: ” I specialise in massage and stress management  (as well as being a fully trained beautician), so creating the right environment was so important to me.  I like to offer clients a space to escape, irrespective of treatment type and length of time. I offer an ‘experience’ not just a treatment and give detail and attention to every single person I see, which can sometimes mean spending more time with someone than expected.  We are all very different; acknowledging differences means I can create bespoke treatments and hopefully happy clients.

As founder and owner Maria takes her fastidiousness for health and beauty  into every element of Cloud 9.  Therapists and visiting Practitioners are personally vetted and all products sold at the salon and online shop have been trialled by Maria (with friends and family often roped in for thoughts and feedback). 

Liz King (NVQ)

Liz is a Beauty Therapist with over 14 years experience in the industry.

In the past Liz has worked as a Beauty Therapist for Steiner on-board Cruise Ships,  for Virgin Atlantic at Heathrow in their Upper Class Passenger Lounge and has also worked as a National Make up Artist for Estee Lauder providing make up at events all over the country including London Fashion Week.

Most recently Liz has trained in Aesthetics treatments, including Skinceuticals and SkinMedica Skin Peels, which are now available here at Cloud 9.
